What Are Verrucas?
Verrucas are warts that grow on feet, also called plantar warts. They are not harmful but are certainly not easy on the eyes. Those suffering from plantar warts don’t feel confident outdoors, especially on beaches or in pools because they don’t want the whole world to see their warts. That is why, despite being harmless, verrucas need quick treatment. To do this, you can adopt several home remedies.1. Aloe Vera:
The Chinese use Aloe Vera as a treatment for warts.- Take a generous amount of aloe vera gel and slather it on the verrucas.
- Wrap a bandage around the verruca.
2. Basil:
- Repeat the steps every day until the wart dries.
- Make a paste of basil leaves with castor oil.
- Now thickly apply thepaste on the verrucas.
- Wrap with a gauze bandage and keep it that way for several hours.
3. Tea Tree Oil:
- Repeat the steps every day until the verrucas dry off.
- Add some tea tree oil on a cotton ball, place a few drops of tea tree oil.
- Using duct tape, stick the cotton ball onto the wart and leave it like this for several hours.
- Repeat twice every day.
4. Lemon Oil:
Lemon essential oil is good for treating verrucas. The antiseptic can help treat warts without surgical intervention.- Apply a few drops of lemon essential oil to the wart. Lift your feet so that the oil doesn’t rub off before it dries.
5. Vitamin C:
- If you cannot find lemon essential oil, bruise a few pieces of lemon peel and drop them in a carrier oil like olive oil. Use it like lemon oil after a day of soaking.
- Buy a few vitamin pills from the pharmacy.
- Crush the pills into powder.
- Mix with a few drops of water to make a thick paste.
6. Vitamin E:
- Apply the paste on the verrucas until they dry off.
- Purchase vitamin E capsules from the pharmacy.
- Make a small hole in the capsule with a pin.
- Squeeze the syrupy contents of the pill on to warts.
7. Garlic:
- Evenly smear them on the verrucas.
- Cut thin slices of garlic and place them on warts. Now keep them in position using duct tape.
- Take a cotton wad and soak it in garlic oil. Using a band aid, keep this pressed against the wart.
8. Vinegar:
Vinegar is yet another potent remedy that can rid those nasty warts in no time at all. The acidic nature of vinegar will help burn up warts.- Soak a piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar.
- Place it on the wart and wrap with a bandage.
9. Dandelion:
- Do it twice every day.
- Pluck a few dandelions from the garden.
- Break the stem and you will find a clear fluid oozing out.
- Collect this sap and apply it on to the verrucas.
10. Birch Bark:
The less known herbal legacy can take you from warts to no warts in less than a week. The bark of birch contains salicylates; the same ingredient OTCs use to treat verrucas.- If you can find fresh birch bark, soak it in water.
- Keep it pressed to the wart with the inside of the bark in contact with the verrucas.
- If you can find powdered birch bark, brew a strong tea with it.
- Soak cotton balls in it and press it on the verrucas.
